Start here to create your coach! 👋

Welcome to the guide to the guide. If you're new and have never created a coaching program before, follow this guide to navigate through the documentation. It will help you find the right information at the right time, empowering you to create your first coaching program - from defining your coaching goals to testing the implemented app.

Tip: Artificial Intelligence is your friend. Send it the link to this documentation and ask it any questions about it. For example, "How can I add a new coaching message to a Micro Dialog?".

1. Define your Objectives and KPIs

Defining success before launching a digital coaching program is essential. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives not only set targets to measure the program's effectiveness but also guide necessary adjustments, shape and prioritize the program's features, and ensure that all relevant outcomes are systematically tracked for thorough analysis and evaluation of user data.

Objectives and KPIs

Creating an effective coaching involves careful planning and a structured approach. This chapter provides a comprehensive guide to help you design a successful coaching program, starting from defining specific interaction points to developing a master plan that ensures all aspects of the intervention are aligned with your objectives.

Designing a Coaching

When designing your coaching program, it is crucial to consider the timing of messages and the conversational coaching flow. Please refer to the following best practices:

2. Design your Dialogues

Creating engaging coaching dialogues is essential for a successful coaching program. This documentations offer best practices on formulating coaching messages, determining appropriate message lengths, and for designing user response options.

3. Define your Analytics

An analytics report is essential for evaluating the success of a coaching program. It should cover all measures and variables needed to assess the defined objectives and KPIs.

Analytics

This is a step by step guide leading you through the most important functions you'll need to create your coaching.

Before you start implementing the coaching, please read the Best Practices on the Coaching Design.

4. Set Up Your Team of Coaching Designers

At least one of your team members should have received admin account login data from Pathmate. If not, please contact us. With this admin account, you can create new accounts for other team members involved in the creation of the coaching.

Please review the Access Control section to learn how to create new accounts and assign different rights (author vs. admin).

Only one coaching admin can work on the coaching at a time. To work simultaneously, additional users need to log in with their author accounts.

Expected Outcome: All of your team members involved in the creation of the coaching have access to the coaching platform. Usually, every coaching designer should have an author and an admin account.

5. Create Your Micro Dialogs

Micro Dialogs are the building blocks of your coaching. Almost all content is housed within these Micro Dialogs, forming the framework for your coaching.

If you followed the best practices guide on Designing a Coaching, you should have a comprehensive overview of all the content to be included in the coaching. This will guide you in creating the necessary Micro Dialogs.

Please read Creating a New Micro Dialog and Rearrange the Structure of the Micro Dialogs to learn how to create and organize your own Micro Dialog structure.

Tip: Chunk your content into several smaller Micro Dialogs rather than one large one. Smaller Micro Dialogs provide greater flexibility in creating your coaching, allowing for easier duplication of content and rearrangement of the coaching flow.

Tip: Check out the demo coaching "CoachStudio ADHS Demo Coach DEV".

Expected Outcome: You should have created all the Micro Dialogs needed for your coaching, organized, and named them in a way that reflects the content structure of the intervention.

6. Add Your Content to The Micro Dialogs

Your coaching should now be ready to be filled up with your coaching content

The content implementation and testing should proceed simultaneously. Please refer to Chapter 8, "Testing," for further details.

Add chat messages

Make sure you read the best practices on Coaching Dialogues and User Response Options before you start.

Please read Creating a New Coaching Message and Answer Types for Dialogue Messages to learn how to create a text-based coaching dialogue.

Please read Define the Flow Within a Micro Dialog to learn how to arrange the sequence of messages, set rules (conditions) for messages, and create branches of rules within a decision point. Find more information on Rule Types.

Read Randomized and Looped Messages to learn how to create a pool of messages within a Micro Dialog from which messages are randomly or sequentially selected. This approach helps to make repeating dialogues more varied and the communication sound more natural.

Add Push Notifications

Read Push Notifications to learn how to send push notifications.

Add Questionnaires

Read Questionnaires to learn how to create questionnaires within the coaching dialogues.

Send Emails

Read Emails for instructions on sending automated emails to users or supervisors.

Implement Infocards

Read Infocards for instructions on creating and implementing infocards.

Integrate Media Objects

Read Media Objects for instructions on integrating images, audios and videos.

Tip: At this point, you can also leave out other media objects like images or videos that you want to integrate as part of the coaching dialogue. Instead, put a placeholder (e.g., "⚠️ Yoga Video HERE") at the point in the dialogue where you want the image or video to be shown.

Expected Outcome: All of your Micro Dialogs are filled with the assigned content (coaching messages, questionnaires). The coaching flow functions correctly within each Micro Dialog, processing the messages/questionnaires based on the user's answers and the set conditions. At this point, the transitions between Micro Dialogs and the triggers for starting a Micro Dialog do NOT need to be implemented.

7. Define the Global Dialogue Flow

Implementing the global coaching flow is one of the final and most critical steps in creating a coaching. The global coaching flow determines when specific Micro Dialogs are triggered, the sequence in which these dialogues occur, and how they interact with each other within the broader coaching program. Due to its complexity, this step requires thorough testing.

Read Defining the Global Coaching Flow of Your Coaching Program for detailed instructions.

8. Testing

Read Testing to learn how to test your newly created Micro Dialogs efficiently.

Read Troubleshooting to learn how to identify issues in the coaching.
